SDDM™ -

An IEEE-Based Methodology
for COTS / IT Projects in
Regulated Industries

SDDM™ is Hollis's System Development and Deployment Methodology. SDDM™ was derived from the IEEE 1999 Software Engineering Compendium, and has been continuously updated to follow the evolution of IEEE Std 12207. SDDM™ also includes extension of the IEEE methods to include:

Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software

bullet

 Projects to integrate multiple subsystems

bullet

Iterative, accretive prototyping methods

bullet

Installation into qualified network infrastructures

Coordinated Project, Quality, and Document Management

SDDM™ Arrangement Document Relationship Model

The table above shows Hollis's "Nine Block Model," or the SDDM™ implementation of the IEEE Systems and Software Engineering (S&SE) principles. The Nine Block Model identifies the basic document set associated with the Verification, Validation, and Qualification (VV&Q) of any given System Arrangement

(NOTE: One fundamental construct in all of C3Q™ (SDDM™ included) is that of the Arrangement, or the set of hardware, software, setup parameters, subsystems, etc., that is treated as a collection and considered the "thing" to be inspected or audited for compliance. Thus, an Adverse Event Reporting System, Warehouse Automation System, or ERP "system" is treated and a "System Arrangement" for VV&Q purposes.)

All of SDDM™, including the Nine Block Model, possesses the key C3Q™ attributes of being:

Reduced to Practice

bullet

Internally Consistent

Life-cycle Extensive
